This site will become a portal to different initiatives which share the intention of building community based broadband infrastructure in the rural landscape and marginalized areas.

Building the broadband infrastructure will improve life in the rural and marginalized areas around the globe. We think that a major ressouce in doing so is the local population in rural and marginalized areas who must acquire the knowledge and skill to do so.

DIIRWB logoAt DIIRWB we have teatchers who are eager to teach fellow people. The teachers maintain their practical skills in all the relevant disciplines from their involvement in building and maintaining the rural wireless network at Djursland, now connecting more than 5000 households.

The involvement of local individuals are crucial to awoid drain of skills and economics to the major citys large telecompanies, to build a sustainable rural broadband infrastructure and finally to narrow the social divide between rural areas and the metropols.
